Lillias Davidson 1858 reproduction sampler

Lillias Davidson 1858 reproduction sampler is now available!  I purchased this lovely Scottish sampler mainly because my maiden name is Davidson.  Lillias was born to James Davidson and Lillias Sinclair in Perth, Scotland on October 24, 1841.  An early census identifies her as a scholar living in Ochlockie.  I love that Scottish samplers give you an large family history by including all her family initials, and indicate if they are deceased by surrounding the initials in black thread.  The original sampler was stitched in wool, as sampler making was beginning to transition to Berlin woodwork.  I stitched my reproduction with the wonderful Gentle Arts Simply Wool hand-dyed threads which are a joy to work with!  I have also provided a DMC conversion.  The model is stitched on 30 count abecedarian blend linen from R & R Reproductions.  Stitches used on cross over two, back stitch, and algerian eye.

Retail price is $15.00 plus shipping ($2.50 in the US).  On the left there is a photo of Lillias.  If you would like to order, please fill out the form (also on the left) to send me an email.  I would love to send you a copy of Lillias!

Thanks, and hope you like her,
