Scraping the bottom of the barrell

Greetings...
Before I get the to title of the post, I do want to share a lovely basket that I won from Ann of http://1803ohiofarmbaskets.blogspot.com/  It is just perfect to store hooking and stitching supplies, and she also gifted me the the darling beeswax sheep hanging from the box.  Thank you, Ann, I love it!!

And, last weekend, Lauren from http://rugsandpugs.blogspot.com/ and her good friend, Mary, were here for a visit.  We had a great time antiqueing and visiting, and Lauren gifted me with several lovely gifts...thank you, Lauren!  Since she was kind enough to share a picture of me with you all on her blog, I thought I'd return the favor! hehehe Lauren is on the right.

Now, to the scraping the bottom of the barrel part.  Since I haven't managed to finish anything new, the only thing I can come up with for a blog post is to show you some of my older hooked rugs.  The first is from Kari of Log Cabin Rugs.  It is a very large rug, and I made a big dent in my worms on this!

I love this one, too.

This is a copy of an antique rug.  Once again, in trying to keep with the spirit of old rugs, I just use what I have.

This one is probably my favorite of all I have hooked so far.  It is a pattern by Woolley Fox that was published in Rug Hooking Magazine a couple of years back, Westmoreland Ponies.

This one is actually a rug based on an early quilt.  Several companies publish pattern variations of it.  I believe it is called Lucinda's quilt.

Gee, I think I might be noticing a trend in what I hook ...horses!!  Ya think???

And finally, here is how my garden grows at the end of July.

I hope you enjoyed looking...leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!
Melinda

  2. Geez, thanks for sharing...lol!
Where were some of those rugs??? I don't recall seeing several of them. I guess that's because there is so much eye candy in your house it's hard to take it all in. I guess I will just have to visit again!
Do you recall what issue of RHM Westmoreland Ponies was in?
    Great basket from Ann.
    Hugs to ya' :)

  18. Wow...if thats scraping the bottom of the barrel on rugs lets see what you think are the best ones !!! Those rugs, along with your samplers, garden, home, new dry sink, everything is lovely and when I think in my mind "primitive homestead" your house is exactly what I see. The fact is everything is just lovely Melinda. Sorry I haven't been over to read up what's been going on in your world for awhile....Hugs to you my friend.
